Description
An unusual plant useful as a cut flower with bright green sepals surrounding a black central cone, long vase life.
Sowing Instructions
Sow on to a moist seed sowing compost in a 576 plug tray or similar size unit. Cover lightly with vermiculite and propagate at 15 to 18c germination should start to take place after about 14 to 21 Days. Maintain a temperature of 10 to 15c after germination.
Growing Instructions
Grow on the seedlings at 10 to 15c until they are established and fill the tray. Pot on in late summer into either 9cm pots or 3 plugs to a 1 litre pot. Over winter in a well ventilated unheated glasshouse, tunnel or cold frame for sale in April May the following year. Can also be used as an out door cut flower. Plant over wintered plants in April-May in rows 30cm apart with 20cm between the plants for a flowering crop from late June onwards. The best results will come in the second year.
