Description

First year flowering from a January sowing with high quality stems in a range of colours including many interesting bicolours.

Sowing Instructions

Sow on to the surface of a moist seed sowing compost in a 576 cell plug tray or larger size unit and cover with vermiculite to a depth of 4 to 5 mm. Propagate at 15 to 20c and germination should take place after 10 to 14 days. Maintain a temperature of 15c until the seedlings are established. Take care with the summer sowings that the germination temperature does not rise too far above 20c as this will reduce the rate of germination.

Growing Instructions

Grow on the seedlings from the January sowings at 15c until they are established at which point it can be reduced to 10c. Pot on into 9 cm pots or 3 plugs to a 1 litre or 2 litre pot and grow on at 10 to 15c this should result in saleable plants for May and June flowering in July. Pot the summer sowings in the same way but over winter these in a well ventilated cold glasshouse, tunnel or cold frame resulting in saleable plants the following April
