Germination should take place in 10 to 14 days. Maintain a temperature of 15c after germination for the January sowings. Take care to keep the temperature down for the summer sowings so that germination is not affected.
Grow the January sown seedlings on at 15c reducing to 10 as they become established. The summer sowings need to be grown on as cool as possible and can be potted into either 1 litre pots or 3 plants to a 2 litre pot and over wintered in a well ventilated cold glasshouse tunnel or cold frame for sale the following March-April onwards. From January sowings the plants can be potted in the same way and should be ready to pot in early March for sales from June onwards.
